~~* The New Semi-Secret Lunch Spot *~~

Some of you might remember the 'haunting' pictures from my previous post regarding my daily lunch box in Algeria.

Well, since most of the expats ain't in Algeria (including SOMETHING, he went back to SIN for a week to settle some personal issues), I decided to treat some of the locals staffs for lunch to welcome a new colleague.

We went to this restaurant about 10mins walk from the office. The restaurant's fairly new & small, with simple decor., but the food was above average for Algerian standards.

Since that day, I've fallen in love with that restaurant. As this place was new with above average prices, very few people from the company go there for lunch. So it was the perfect spot to have a nice relaxing lunch without bumping into any of the other colleagues.
Hence, my Columbian colleague-Pablo & I decided to keep this place a secret from our bosses. This shall be the young expats' Semi-Secret Lunch Spot! *woot* >.<

My Quest to Blida @ Algeria (18-06-07)

SOMETHING & I have been appointed to take on a special project for one of the branches in Blida - a province 45km south-west of Algiers.

So from now till the end of 2007, we'll be spending a large amount of time driving to & back from Blida.
My 2nd trip to Blida. Heidi (A nickname we give to one of the '06 freshmen) was our "designated driver" for the day.

I HEART VERONICA MARS

VERONICA MARS - SOMETHING recommended me to this tv series last Friday.

Unlike the past couple of series which I've loved, such as 'Prison Break', 'Friends', 'CSI' & 'Supernatural'. SOMETHING initially suggested that I wouldn't be as keen on this series cos there aren't any cute hunks in the show.

Even I never thought I'll be this hooked on to another tv series since Prison Break S2. But boy was I mistaken! I am now totally hooked on to VERONICA MARS!

Early teasers for the show suggested that it would be a cross between 'Nancy Drew' & 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. Erm... is it just me or is Nancy Drew becoming the 'IN' thing!? *hahaha*

Anyhow, the show revolves around a wealthy community of Neptune where the rich and powerful make the rules while desperately trying to keep their dirty little secrets hush hush. Unfortunately for them, there's Veronica Mars, a smart, fearless 17-year-old apprentice private investigator dedicated to solving the town's toughest mysteries.

The Logo of Veronica's Dad (Keith Mars) Private Investigator Business
Oh! Oh! Keith Mars has this catch phrase which he love to say just to annoy the hell outta Veronica. Guess what it is!? *hint* Wah Wah will totally nail this! It's.... "WHO'S YOUR DADDY!" *hahahaha*
Veronica's character is totally cool!
She's witty, shrewd & somewhat of a bitch too!
I is HEART MAK MAK! *ho ho ho*

I'm currently still at Season One... so now, I'm all about "WHO KILLED LILY KANE?" (aka. Veronica Mars's Best Friend).

All in all, if you love teen dramas like 'One Tree Hill', mysteries like 'CSI' plus a bit of humour like 'Desperate Housewives'. I'll say you've gotta watch VERONICA MARS! Now, I'm 6 episodes away from finding out "WHO KILLED LILY KANE"! *WOO hoOOOoo~*

A Fine Dinner @ The Bon Gerbil (10-06-07)

Went for a business dinner at this French restaurant last Sunday - The Bon Gerbil.

It is considered one of the high-end dining places in Algiers. And is located at the top of the hill, somewhere beside the Martyrs' monument (A monument dedicated to the dead in the War of Independence, 1954-62).

Reminded me of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", accept it's now spring not summer... *hee hee*

We were a pretty big group. Think there were 10 men and 2 women (including myself). But it was a pretty international group. There were Algerians, Japanese, Malaysian, Columbian and of course Singaporeans. =))

Fyi, that's my director = my big boss, sitting at the bottom left corner of the pic. Don't be mistaken, he is totally aware that I'm taking this pic. Cos he totally made me do it! *hahaha* I strongly believe ALL JAPANESE LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES! *hahaha*
